Founded in 1890, the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is an institution of international renown, famous for its genetics research. The scientists of its various departments also do research on cancer, neuroscience, plant biology and bioinformatics. It is also a conference center of excellent reputation, where many symposiums and workshops are organized all year round. The most prominent members of the scientific community – of which many are Nobel prize winners – regularly attend.
The purpose of this work was to create a set of portraits to illustrate the annals of their prestigious attendees and guests; I was commissioned to make an important series of portraits in black and white.
