At the very start of my project, many scientists told me that I had to meet one of the PI, very keen about cars and motor sports, who even was the proud owner of a muscle car. So I simply went to knock at the door of his office, to introduce myself and explain my idea.
When you talk with him, his accent, so British, is a travel in itself. Accessible, terribly nice, Nick was immediately enthusiastic about my proposition; I wasn’t aware of that, but he also has a passion for photography (and his equipment would make many aspiring professional photographers green with envy.)
The idea of motor sport instantly found its echo in him. As for me, I really liked the idea of bringing a car into the studio. After a piano, a set of drums, a telescope, a car was an interesting challenge. But the idea was more to represent the automobile and the sport. Nick provided the solution by bringing a miniature of his own car.
